In the role of Principal Engineer (Traffic) you will provide specialist technical expertise for the design, construction, maintenance and operation of the smart motorway network, concentrating on the optimisation of smart motorway operations. You will manage the development and implementation of advanced traffic management systems enhancing smart motorway operations and road network performance. Key responsibilities include providing technical advice and submissions on smart motorway projects, supervising a multi-disciplinary team to achieve strategic objectives, and monitoring road network performance, traffic demands, and user safety. The role also requires building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, managing expectations and risks, and collaborating with various government and industry partners to drive network performance improvements.
