Our Service Planning team is at the forefront of this effort, collaborating with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) to implement new services and initiatives that enhance the public transport network and support the region's economic and population growth.
The Role:
As Service Planning Manager, you will lead a team of highly skilled planning and scheduling experts based in Morphettville. You will be responsible for driving business improvement initiatives and projects that enhance the quality and efficiency of operations at Torrens Transit and across the broader Transit Systems network. This critical role demands a focus on meeting customer expectations for safe and reliable services, controlling costs, and delivering effective solutions for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership: Provide strong leadership and guidance to the Service Planning team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment. Mentor and develop team members, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
Network Improvement Initiatives: Lead the team in identifying and implementing network improvements and business growth strategies, including tenders and acquisitions. Carefully consider project timelines and milestones to ensure successful execution.
Strategic Planning: Develop innovative network strategies and improvements, incorporating the latest advancements in service planning and delivery. Utilize global trends, local field surveys, and research to inform decision-making.
Financial Analysis: Conduct thorough financial analysis of all network change projects, evaluating the long-term impact on all aspects of the business. Ensure that projects are financially sustainable and deliver a strong return on investment.
Performance Management: Employ analytical techniques and metrics to assess performance, driving continuous improvement and innovation. Develop and implement remedial plans to address any performance gaps.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, government agencies, customers, bus drivers, and other relevant groups. Collaborate effectively to shape project outcomes and achieve business growth objectives.
Compliance: Ensure that all activities are conducted in accordance with local and statutory policies and legislation, including the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) regulations and Employment Agreements. Prioritize safety in all aspects of operations.

Essential Skills and Experience:
Detailed understanding of public transport planning and scheduling principles.
Experience in managing cost and resource impacts within scheduling software.
Proven ability to lead and manage high-performing teams.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
A bachelor's degree in transportation management, logistics, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
