About this event
We are delighted to host a breakfast event with Lucy Saunders, the visionary founder of Healthy Streets, following her keynote address at the AITPM National Conference in Adelaide and subsequent tour across Australia.
Lucy will present her reflections on the current state of urban transport and public realm planning in Australia, drawing on her conversations with state and local governments. She will explore the current gaps and opportunities to embed the Healthy Streets Approach more deeply into policy and practice in Victoria, to create healthier, more inclusive, and people-focused environments.
Following Lucy’s presentation, she will be joined by a local councillor and a practitioner with experience delivering infrastructure for local government. Together, they will engage in a panel discussion on the real-world challenges facing decision-makers and delivery agents—from political pressures and funding constraints to community engagement and technical implementation.
Lucy will guide the conversation toward practical strategies for overcoming these barriers, helping attendees envision a clearer path to making Healthy Streets a reality in Victoria.
This event is a must-attend for professionals in transport planning, urban design, public health, and local government who are passionate about creating streets that support health, sustainability, and community wellbeing.
Registrations close 10am, Monday 15 September 2025
