Healthy Streets in Action: QLD Tour with Lucy Saunders
Lucy Saunders, keynote speaker at the 2025 National Conference, is touring nationally to share her expertise with those who aren’t able to attend the conference.
Join us for the Queensland leg of her tour as she explores street design through the lens of Healthy Streets - a practical, people-focused framework for creating safe, inclusive, and welcoming public spaces.
This engaging session will take you beyond the presentation room and out into the surrounding streets, where Lucy will guide you through a hands-on assessment using a new web-based Healthy Streets tool. Together, we’ll explore how healthy our street environments really are and discuss what changes could make them more inclusive and vibrant - and who needs to take the lead.
Following the walking tour, Lucy will be joined by an expert panel:
- Giles Perkins – Conference Keynote, WSP, Head of Profession – Future Mobility
- Sarah Bridges – Aurecon, Principal – Transport
- Anna Campbell – Queensland Walks, Executive Officer
Light refreshments will be provided.

Speakers
Lucy Saunders | Director | Healthy Streets
Lucy Saunders is a public health specialist, transport planner and urbanist. She developed the Healthy Streets Approach and works with government, consultancies and advocates in cities and regions around the world to apply the Healthy Streets Approach to decisions around how streets are designed, managed and used.
Lucy is one of AITPM's National Transport Conference keynote speakers in September.
