NSW Roads Act Review Member Briefing | Tuesday 30 September 2025
The session explored the review’s aim to ensure the legislation is modern, adaptable, and able to meet future transport and community needs. Key priorities discussed included:
- Modernisation – Bringing a 30-year-old framework up to date to reflect contemporary road usage and management practices.
- Simplification – Streamlining processes to support faster, more effective decision-making for councils and road authorities.
- Inclusivity – Recognising the diverse needs of all road users, from motorists to pedestrians, cyclists, and public transport passengers.
Attendees gained valuable insights into the review process and its implications for road safety, governance, and community outcomes.
Transport Professionals Association is proud to contribute to this important work as part of the Project Reference Advisory Group, helping to ensure that the updated legislation supports safer, more efficient, and more inclusive transport networks for NSW. More information can be found here.
