Speakers
Darren Davis | Manager - Bus Network Planning and Development | Department of Transport and Main Roads
I work both in public transport and in the tricky nexus between land use, placemaking and movement. Put simply, there’s no point having place without movement to get there and no point having movement with no place to go. I have 30 years' experience in public and active transport and land use, including being a lobbyist, planner, strategist, communicator and consultant. I have been involved in projects ranging from high level strategic policy advice; successfully influencing regional and central government agencies; to on-the-ground involvement in major transport infrastructure and land-use projects; doing public transport service design; carrying out high-level policy and strategy work as well as being a key team member on transit oriented development projects. I am currently the Manager: Bus Network Planning and Development at Translink, Department of Transport and Main Roads, Queensland.
Ashish Dhanjee | Transport Planner | Brisbane Airport Corporation
I have 11 years' experience in traffic engineering, road safety, project management, Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), planning and analytics/visualisation. Graduating with a B.Eng in Civil and Transport Engineering from the Queensland University of Technology, I have contributed my work to several AITPM National Conferences and the 2020/21 Asia Pacific Forum on ITS. I have previously guest lectured at the Queensland University of Technology on the topic of analytics and visualisation in transport.
I specialize in traffic engineering, road safety, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), transport analytics and planning, with a focus on data-driven planning and design approaches to develop efficient, evidence-based solutions. I am a keen advocate for significant improvements to active and public transport networks.
Tom Noden | Senior Network Planner | Brisbane City Council
Highly motivated operations manager, educated to degree level (Sports Science), with 9 years’ experience working within the transport industry. I have proven successes within the field across various job descriptions and organisations leading to wide expertise in traffic and bus management on both motorways and city streets. Technically proficient with a background in technology education along with sound communication and relationship management skills. Ability to understand client requirements and deliver performance that meets the needs of a modern forward thinking transport organisation.
