Equitable Mobility for Regional Australia
A comprehensive research paper is being developed. It includes:
Definitions and context of equitable mobility in regional Australia
- Key challenges and systemic barriers to achieving equitable mobility in regional Australia
- Identification of opportunities to improve equitable mobility in regional Australia
- Some relevant case studies from around Australia and overseas that could be applied
- Proposed recommendations for achieving more equitable mobility in regional Australia
The draft is being finalised for review by subject matter experts. Opportunities for sharing the paper are still being considered.
Social Inclusion
Two survey summaries are being prepared:
- The 2025 online social inclusion survey report – Lived Experience Insights.
- A Mentimeter survey was conducted as part of the Inclusive Mobility Workshop at the 2025 National Transport Conference in Adelaide in September 2025. It will highlight industry needs and resource gaps.
Work continues shaping inputs for a Social Inclusion position statement.
Safety
A range of issues arising from the Inclusive Mobility Workshop and Speed Management sessions at the 2025 National Transport Conference will inform further work of the Safety sub-group in 2026.
Task Group members contributed to the Road Safety Strategy Review submission.
