About this event
International Women’s Day (IWD) has marked progress and challenged inequality for more than 115 years.
Australia’s transport sector has a role to play in addressing some of the persistent inequalities and systemic barriers encapsulated by UN Women Australia’s 2026 theme of ‘Balance the Scales’, from how systems are designed to the subtle behaviours leaders can adopt to effect authentic change in the workplace.
To honour IWD and foster a long-lasting conversation, past the March celebrations, this webinar brings together three of our senior leaders from within the Transport Professionals Association from diverse professional backgrounds to focus on:
- Why gender equality in transport is critical to better outcomes for communities, economies, and the future workforce
- How transport systems can be designed for the most excluded in society, thus improving outcomes for all
- What supporting women looks like in practice - sponsorship, mentoring, inclusive leadership, allyship, and presence in senior roles
- How women across Australia are shaping transport policy, planning, operations, technology, and leadership
- Practical actions and solutions individuals and organisations can take to help accelerate change.
Hosted by our Board Chair, Ben Wood, our speakers will share lived experience, insights, and examples of how supporting women creates stronger, more inclusive transport systems.
Registrations close Tuesday 3 March 2026.
