The member/subscriber webinar explored how artificial intelligence (AI) can be applied to solve transport challenges, drawing on six years of experience in the transport and planning sector. Designed for a non-technical audience, the session explained AI concepts in clear, practical terms and shared insights and lessons learned from past projects.
It also examined current opportunities and challenges in transport planning and operations, and considered how AI could shape safer, smarter, and more sustainable transport systems in the future.

Nick Fletcher | Founder | Vivendi Consulting
Nick Fletcher is the founder of Vivendi Consulting and a Director at Vivendi Cities, with 25 years’ experience delivering major transport strategies, business cases and change programs across Australia, the UK, Europe and North America. He developed the long-term rail strategy that underpins Sydney Metro, delivered NSW Walking and Cycling Strategies, and has overseen more than $40 billion in project assurance for Infrastructure NSW. His consulting career also includes significant work with Transport for London and UK central government agencies.
Over the past six years, he has led Vivendi’s AI work, creating tools such as PAWS, PedSAT, C-MAPS and Trellis, which are reshaping how agencies understand multi-modal transport, active travel, safety and the relationship between transport and land use.
He works as an advisor and reviewer to government, and combines strategic insight with collaborative, structured delivery to achieve co-designed and lasting outcomes.
Lyndon Pereira | Senior Data Scientist | Vivendi Consulting
Lyndon Pereira is Senior Data Scientist at Vivendi Consulting with deep expertise in AI, transport analytics and real-world data science.
He has led the development of several of Vivendi’s AI models, which have been applied across major projects in Sydney and NSW to provide new insights into walking, cycling, pedestrian safety, bus and rail demand, land use and place outcomes. Lyndon’s work combines advanced machine learning with transport planning to deliver practical, evidence-based insights for local, state and federal transport clients.
He holds a BA in Mechatronic Engineering from UTS.
Kirsty Kelly | CEO | Transport Professionals Association
Kirsty Kelly is the Chief Executive Officer of Transport Professionals Association (formerly AITPM) and is an experienced leader in the built environment sector, having previously served as CEO of the Planning Institute of Australia and the Illuminating Engineering Society of Australia and New Zealand. Starting her career as an urban and regional planner, Kirsty has worked as a planner in local, state and territory government, the private sector, academia, and non-profit associations.
